Raw and honest and fascinating Melissa! We could talk well into the night on this topic. Sometimes the career we choose is the furthest from what we feel we're worth... in an effort to prove something.. Hide something.. Be too busy to look into ourselves? And then what? The real work begins. And that's pretty bloody unpleasant TBH

Gorgeous Melissa. I'm calling it "becoming", as Michelle Obama doesn't have the copyright on it. Last year was transformation. The peeling of layers to become who we are in the very centre of it all. It's terrifying and exciting in equal measure. Shall we bounce some of it around sometime soon and compare notes?

I think we all need to believe in something - and there’s no harm in that being god or a higher power or whatever. The crime religion has perpetuated is to get in the way of our personal conversation with the ‘other’. Although I concede there is peace in ritual. Your thoughts perfectly reflect my own, it’s great to be always searching, isn’t it? Keeps us on our toes!

We believed because we were brainwashed and guilt tripped into believing. As children the consequences were too great if we refused to believe. Back then because I rebelled against believing it was decided by my Mother and the Headmistress of the secondary school I attended that further education would be a waste on me although I excelled at Art, English and Typewriting in practical theory but struggled with instant memory recall for exams so I was taken out of school (quietly expelled) to 'earn my keep' and like many women before me I was told to believe my detiny to desire ' was to marry and produce children and for many years I believed it. Eventually I stopped believing in what wasn't right for me and stopped torturing myself about my education 'if things had been different' and it's really been ok.
